LAST CALL
The Last Call stage of the Lights of Africa project is the high-stakes Phase 2 elimination filter that bridges raw campus activations with the main competition. In this pressure-cooker phase, selected contestants are grouped together to test their collaborative skills and adaptability under intense pressure. To survive the cut and advance to the next major phase, The House of Sound, talents must prove their professional focus and star power to win over both the expert judges and audience votes.
UPRISING STAGE - UNIVERSITY OF GHANA
The Uprising Stage at the University of Ghana will serve as the next phase for the fifteen contestants who earned gold chains during the Sound Hunt, acting as a formal, staged performance where they compete for the ultimate prizes. The event will feature a host, Essilfua, and a DJ, DJ Mob, to warm up the crowd before each contestant takes the stage. Each performer will have five minutes to perform, followed by a ten-minute dialogue with the judges, Joey B, Jay Foley, and Joker Nharnah, who are looking for the "most real" voice that can make them "stop thinking". Contestants are vying for eight invitation cards to the National Theatre, along with a 100,000 cedis Rising Icon dream-chasing fund and a 200,000 cedis EP recording package
SOUND HUNT - UNIVERSITY OF GHANA, LEGON
The "sound hunt" at the University of Ghana will be a spontaneous, public, and outdoor search for raw musical talent, led by the three "Sound Hunters": Joey B, Jay Foley, and Joker Nharnah. Traveling in a mobile caravan that acts as their manifesto, the judges will comb the campus streets and corridors to find "crazier, truer, more honest sounds" that exist outside traditional studios. The judges are seeking a star who does not yet know their potential, awarding a total of fifteen gold chains to contestants who demonstrate originality, rhythm, and global appeal, advancing them to the Uprising Stage for a chance at a 100,000 cedis dream-chasing fund and a 200,000 cedis EP recording package.
