User Service Agreement

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Lights of Africa platform ("Platform") operated by Equator Light (Ghana) Media Ltd ("we", "us", or "Company"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create and use an account on the Platform. If you are under 18, verifiable parental or guardian consent is required. Contestant registration is limited to persons aged 16 and above, subject to verified parental or guardian consent for contestants under 18.

3. User Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
  • You may not create multiple accounts or share your account with others.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Platform Services

The Platform provides talent competition services including contestant registration, live streaming, voting, ticketing, and community features. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users.
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent content.
  • Attempt to manipulate voting or competition results.
  • Interfere with the Platform's technical infrastructure.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without authorization.

6. Content Ownership

Content you submit remains yours, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, use, reproduce, edit, display, distribute, promote, broadcast, and archive that content solely in connection with the Platform, the competition, and related promotional activities.

7. Intellectual Property

All Platform content, branding, and technology are owned by Equator Light (Ghana) Media Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Platform. The Company's aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to the Company in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of the Platform shall be resolved in accordance with the Dispute Resolution Clause published on the Platform, except where a court application is expressly permitted under that Clause or by applicable law.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be notified via email or Platform notification.
