Live Streaming Management Regulations

1. Overview

Lights of Africa provides live streaming of competition events through the Platform. These regulations govern the live streaming experience for viewers, participants, and staff.

2. Access Requirements

  • Live streaming is available to registered users only.
  • Users under 13 years old are not permitted to access live streams.
  • Minors aged 13-17 are subject to time-based restrictions (no access between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM UTC).
  • Banned users are blocked from accessing live streams.

3. Live Chat / Comment Rules

The following rules apply to all comments and messages during live streams:

  • Be respectful to all participants, judges, and fellow viewers.
  • No hate speech, discriminatory language, or personal attacks.
  • No spam, excessive use of caps, or repetitive messages.
  • No sharing of personal information (doxxing).
  • No promotion of illegal activities or external services.
  • No spoilers or leaked results before official announcement.

4. Moderation

Our moderation team actively monitors live chat and has the authority to:

  • Flag content: Mark inappropriate comments for review.
  • Delete comments: Remove violating content immediately.
  • Mute users: Temporarily prevent a user from posting (timed or permanent).
  • Ban users: Permanently suspend access for severe or repeated violations.

5. Automated Moderation

The Platform uses automated content filtering that:

  • Detects and flags comments containing prohibited keywords.
  • Holds flagged comments for moderator approval before display.
  • Rate-limits excessive comment posting.

6. Stream Quality

We aim to provide uninterrupted, high-quality streams. However, stream quality may vary based on viewer's internet connection. In case of technical issues, backup stream URLs are available. We are not liable for interruptions caused by circumstances beyond our control.

7. Recording and Redistribution

Recording, screen-capturing, or redistributing live streams without written permission is prohibited. Unauthorized recordings may be subject to copyright claims and legal action.
