1. Commitment to Fair Voting
Lights of Africa is committed to ensuring that all votes cast on our Platform are genuine, fair, and reflect the true preferences of our audience. We employ multiple layers of protection to maintain voting integrity.
2. Anti-Fraud Measures
Our Platform implements the following safeguards:
- Account-based voting: Only registered, authenticated users can vote.
- IP-based rate limiting: Maximum votes per IP address per hour to prevent network-based manipulation.
- Daily and weekly vote caps: Each user is limited to a set number of votes per day and per week.
- Duplicate vote prevention: Users cannot vote for the same contestant in the same category more than once per voting period.
- CAPTCHA verification: Automated bot prevention using Cloudflare Turnstile or reCAPTCHA.
- Anomaly detection: Real-time monitoring for suspicious voting patterns such as burst voting and automated intervals.
3. Vote Monitoring
Our administration team continuously monitors voting activity including:
- Real-time vote count dashboards.
- Anomaly alerts for unusual traffic patterns.
- IP cluster analysis to detect coordinated manipulation.
- Audit trails for all vote-related actions.
4. Vote Cleanup
If fraudulent votes are detected, we reserve the right to:
- Remove suspected fraudulent votes from the tally.
- Suspend or ban accounts engaged in vote manipulation.
- Adjust vote results to reflect legitimate voting activity.
- Disclose actions taken in the interest of transparency.
5. Results Transparency
Voting results are published after each voting period closes. Total vote counts and percentages are visible to all users. Detailed vote data is maintained in audit logs accessible to authorized administrators.
6. Complaints
If you suspect voting irregularities, report them to xdfz@equatorlightmedia.com with the subject "Voting Integrity Report". All reports are investigated within 48 hours.
